MEMBER CARD® Debit Card
Horizon Credit Union now has NEW MEMBER CARD® debit cards equipped Interac Flash® technology allowing you to pay for everyday purchases quickly, securely and conveniently!
NOTE: If you are receiving a new MEMBER CARD® debit card, the card will come in the mail first, followed by the PIN a few days later. You can change your PIN at any Canadian credit union ATM that displays the ACCULINK® symbol or drop by a Horizon Credit Union branch.
If your new MEMBER CARD® has the same number as your old one, you can continue using your existing PIN – you will not need to change it.
The Interac Flash® service is a contactless payment with the functionality of Interac®
As an additional layer of security, the cards have a cumulative limit and once reached, insertion of the card and entering your PIN will be required to process the transaction. After that, more transactions may be processed as “contactless” transactions until the limit is again reached. Interac Flash® technology is built using the highest security available for contactless payments protecting it from electronic pickpocketing attacks.

MEMBER CARD® debit card – is the multipurpose transaction card for accessing your account.
You can access your credit union accounts to withdraw cash at any cash machine around the world displaying the INTERAC® logo or CIRRUS® logo. Plus, as a credit union member, you can use it at more than 2,000 “DING FREE” ATMs to withdraw cash, make deposits, and check balances, all without paying a single penny in surcharges! You can pay for purchases from your account instead of using cash, at any retail location worldwide displaying the INTERAC® Direct Payment symbol. When you use your MEMBER CARD® the transaction amount is immediately debited from your account.
Your transactions are reported on your statement and can be reviewed on MemberDirect® online banking, mobile banking as well as telephone banking. This card number along with a personal access code gives you access to MemberDirect® online banking, where you can use the many features to view transactions, create additional savings accounts for your personal convenience, pay bills, sign up for or view your eStatements, transfer money through eTransfer, and use Mobile Banking.
Protect your PIN: As with a mag-stripe card, if someone obtains/steals your chip card and has your PIN — or if you lose your wallet/purse and your PIN is written down in it somewhere — they will be able to make purchases and withdraw funds from your account. In other words, keep doing the things you do now to keep your card and your PIN safe.

An AgriInvest Account helps producers manage small income declines. Each year, producers can make a deposit into an AgriInvest account and receive a matching contribution from federal and provincial governments. Producers have the flexibility to withdraw the funds at any time to cover small margin declines or for risk mitigation and other investments.

FIMCLA increases the availability of credit to farming operations and farmer-owned marketing co-operatives to improve farm assets and strengthen production and financial stability. It encourages the provision of intermediate term debt to farmers for the improvement and development of their farming business in order to maintain an efficient agriculture production capability. Individuals, partnerships, corporations or co-operative associations actively engaged in farming and operating the farm as a business with the intent to making a profit are eligible to apply.
